Ephesians 4: NLT 12Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. 13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.
Ephesians 4:NLT 15 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. 16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
Vision: The verses listed above are a glimpse into my goal for CLC. My goal is to assist our leadership in training and equipping others to do the ministry. The vision for the next couple of years is to help our leadership become greater. Notice that I said “Greater”, not “Good Enough”, and not “Greatness”.
“Good Enough” is criteria by living in mediocrity. It leaves you stuck in stagnation.
“Greatness” is the vague, unrealistic aspiration of doing better that does not work in real life. It leaves you frustrated.
“Greater” is the life-altering understanding that God is ready to accomplish a kind of greatness in your life that is entirely out of human reach. It fulfills you and places you directly in the middle of Gods purpose for your life. We may never reach a state the world considers as greatness yet it is my belief that God wants to do something “Greater” in the lives of the believers at CLC and he is ready to prepare the hearts, minds, and lives of his people.
