As your Worship Director, I desire to ascend the hill of the Lord and stand in the Holy Place with the whole family of God, old and young together. This ministry in song is not about us (the worship team), but it is for our Redeemer. It is He that we honor and praise–it is He that we focus on. This brings unity in the family –as we come together and agree that He is bigger than our problems–thus, through this vehicle of “Worship & Praise,” we speak and sing the words audibly and these words bring renewed life and hope to our very being. As we worship God actively in our services, the spirit of heaviness is broken and the worshipper is able to enter into the Holy of Holies; together, we can ascend the hill of the Lord and stand in His holy place.
Since corporate worship is the core of the church life, we strive to base our worship on the Word of God. We have a balance of both the traditional and contemporary worship music in our services, which enables “one generation to declare his works to another.” Let us rejoice in the songs of the young, and revere the songs of the aged as well as those who are worshipping now from the galleries of Heaven. We will diligently choose and perform music that will accomplish the following:
EXALT the Lord (Psalm 99:9)
EXPRESS purity of heart (1 Tim 4:12)
EDIFY members of the body of Christ (Rom 14:19)
ENCOURAGE world evangelism (Matt 28:19,20)
EMBRACE excellence in performance (1Chr 15:22)
EMPLOY a variety of styles (Eph 5:19)
ESCORT people into His presence (Psalm 100:1-4)
Anyone who serves in the capacity of promoting the corporate worship experience is part of the worship team. Therefore, with humility and a grateful heart, I say to each of you who serve, thank you for your dedication and faithfulness to this ministry. Thank you for always refining your skills and living lives of utter consecration to our Lord. Thank you for allowing God to minister through you.
